How this is measured

Sep 25, 2026–Oct 24, 2026. Each firm's latest positive target is paired only with its immediately prior positive target from the same provider, at most 180 days earlier. Unmatched observations have one dot; conflicting observations are not compared.

Updated Oct 24, 2026

What kind of bet this is

This is a speculative turnaround, not a proven durable grower: the business is loss-making, recent performance is weak, and risk is high. The thesis remains in a watch state, with management stable but limited evidence so far that its plans are improving results.

What's priced into EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CORP

EDUC is cheap versus peers, but the expectations gap is negative, suggesting the market’s assumptions may still be more favorable than the evidence supports. The priced-in assessment is tagged as justified, with low fragility, but the valuation model has medium confidence.

What the fundamentals likely do

Near term, earnings risk is elevated after a run of misses, and the latest evidence shows revenue declining from fiscal 2026 Q1 to Q3 while losses persisted. Management continues to pursue more than $1.2 million in fiscal 2027 expense savings and a conservative purchasing plan, but delivery has not yet brought clear financial improvement; active Brand Partners rose to 5,100, still below prior levels.

What EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CORP hinges on

The multi-year view hinges on whether cost savings and partner growth can support stronger sales and improve profitability. A guidance cut on the next call would add to concerns, while rate cuts or continued strength among sector bellwethers could provide a favorable backdrop, though neither resolves the company’s operating challenges.
